First of all you can get involved by becoming a FARM founder
A founder is any person or any public or private organisation who makes a financial contribution to the Foundation’s endowment.
The initial Founders of FARM form a General Assembly. The decision to grant the status of Founder to any new donor who meets the necessary conditions is approved by unanimous vote of the members of the General Assembly of Founders and ratifed by the Board of Directors.
You can also become a Friend of the Foundation
A Friend of the Foundation is any person or any public or private organisation that makes a commitment to help the Foundation for World Agriculture and Rural Life.
The membership fee was set by the Board of Directors at its first meeting, on April 25, 2006.
Decision N°6 : "Friends of the Foundation may include persons or organisations from Northern and Southern hemisphere countries" :
- individuals may meet the membership obligations in one of two ways :
- either by an annual financial contribution of 100 €
- or by a non-material contribution in kind, such as the free offer of services, studies, speaking engagements, etc. Such offers will be put before the General Assembly of Friends or the officers of the Board of Directors for evaluation as sufficient contribution for membership.
- Organisations may become Friends of the Foundation in various ways depending on the type of organisation :
- private companies : annual membership fees of an amount tied to the company’s annual turnover worldwide (10,000 € for a turnover < 200 M € ; 25,000 € for a turnover between 200 et 700 M € ; 50,000 € for a turnover > 700 M €)
- not-for-profit organisations, NGOs, public service foundations, and organisations from developing countries : 1000 euros unless an exception is approved by the Board according to conditions the Board has set.
- public institutions : annual membership fees set at 5,000 €."
The Friends of the Foundation form a General Assembly.
The decision to grant the status of Friend of the Foundation to new persons or institutions must by approved by the Board of Directors. You may also get involved with specific FARM activities. Access to such activities will be publicised beforehand on this website under the heading "activities".
