FARM will be present at the Salon International de l’Agriculture, from February 27 to March 7, 2010, in Paris Porte de Versailles. Our stand will be in Hall 3, avenue D, position 83, we will be delighted to welcome you.
The stand will be a place of rendezvous for professional organizations from northern and southern countries. In addition, several meetings and events will be held throughout the Salon, see the program (in French).

IFOAM (International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements) publishes The Organic Business Guide. FARMcontributed to translation, layout and printing costs of the French version of the Guide. The book is now available online.

Following the completion of the first Cotton University training session at Ouagadougou in September 2008, FARM launched a second session in conjunction with HEC, targeted for managers of the African Cotton Producers’ Association (AproCA). The session took place at Ségou, Mali, with some forty managers, elected officials and technical personnel in attendance, representing 13 cotton-producing countries in West and Central Africa whether Francophone, Anglophone or Lusophone. The session was held at CERTIFEX (research and training center for the textile industry) and was opened by Tiémoko Sangaré, Minister of Agriculture for Mali.


Eric Pasquati, ICT project leader at FARM, attended the IAALD (International Association of Agricultural Information Specialists) XIIIth World Congress, which took place in Montpellier (France) from the 26th to the 29th of April 2010. He presented a paper co-written with Pierre Girard, food project leader at FARM, on innovations in communication processes between local and foreigner actors to foster co-production and exchange of agricultural knowledge in Burkina Faso. The paper is now available online (pdf, 120 kb).

On November 23 and 24, the conference "Prices and markets risks: farmers faced with volatility" is held in Pierre Mendès France Conference Center, in Paris (France).
The conference addresses the issues related to the volatility of agricultural prices, management of market risks and implications of this context for agricultural policies. It takes into account the situation of Africa, Madagascar and Europe.
